Revamped Powertrains for Renault Captur and Symbioz SUVs
Renault has recently unveiled updated powertrains for its popular Captur and Symbioz SUVs, marking a significant enhancement in both models.
Both the Captur and Symbioz are now equipped with a robust 160hp hybrid powertrain, replacing the previous 145hp variant. This upgraded powertrain features a larger 1.8-litre petrol engine and an increased battery capacity, now at 1.4kWh, up from 1.26kWh.
Renault claims that this new powertrain achieves 5% better fuel efficiency compared to its predecessor, with CO2 emissions reduced to just 97g/km. Additionally, the towing capacity has seen an impressive increase from 750kg to 1,000kg.
Pricing for the Captur small SUV with the new powertrain starts at £25,195, while the Symbioz medium SUV is available from £29,795.
In addition to the hybrid powertrain, Renault has introduced a 140hp mild hybrid option for the Symbioz range, boasting a WLTP combined fuel economy of 47.9mpg and CO2 emissions of 133g/km. This new option provides an accessible entry point into the Symbioz lineup, starting at £27,395.
The Captur has also received a specification upgrade, with all equipment grades now featuring an electric parking brake with auto-hold as standard. Moreover, adaptive cruise control with speed limiter is included in the mid-range Techno grade and above for all hybrid models.
The top-tier Esprit Alpine grade now comes equipped with advanced safety features, including lane centering, occupant safe exit, blind spot recognition, rear detection with emergency lane keeping assist, and rear cross traffic alert systems. A new child locking function for the rear doors and windows has also been introduced.
